Sophia Wagner
Moderator International Plenum 2 System-wide approaches to reducing health inequalities
Sophia Wagner, a political and strategy consultant and economics graduate, she has been working on future-oriented development in the German healthcare system since 2015. She has built up a broad foundation of expertise over time via different perspectives and cooperation with various stakeholders in the system. These range from care, digital healthcare and health policy communications to strategy consulting for companies, start-ups, and associations. She is currently a partner at iX – Institute for Health System Development, with a focus that includes the areas of system and care structure, care models and prevention & sustainability.

Sabine Rieser

Sabine Rieser works as a specialist freelance journalist for health and social policy and as a moderator. Among other things, she is a freelancer for the “Observer Health” industry service. Up to 2016, Ms. Rieser managed the Berlin office of the specialist publication “Deutsches Ärzteblatt”. She graduated from the Cologne School of Journalism and studied economics.

Dr. Albrecht Kloepfer
Moderator of the panel discussion Politics and associations
Dr. Albrecht Kloepfer is a political consultant, journalist and trained literary scholar, and taught at various universities in Berlin and Tokyo from 1987 to 1999. He was a correspondent for the “Deutschland” magazine, published by the Federal Foreign Office and the Federal Press Office From 1996 to 2001. Since 2000 he has been supporting companies and associations from all areas of the healthcare industry as a moderator and strategic consultant. Since 2002 he has been editor of “GesundheitsPolitische Brief” (“iX-Highlights” since 2018), a weekly news summary of German health policy, as well as head of the Berlin “Office for Health Policy Communication”. Since 2006 he has moderated the weekly “Health Policy Fireside Chats” at the Hotel Adlon in Berlin. Since 2013 he has been the honorary managing director of the non-profit organization “MetaForum – Innovation for Better Health”. In 2014 he founded the “iX - Institute for Health System Development” and in 2018 the media company “iX-Media”. He has been responsible for the management of the latter since then. Since autumn 2020 Albrecht Kloepfer has been an executive member of the board of the German Association for Integrated Care (DGIV).

Prof. Dr. mult. Eckhard Nagel
Moderator International Plenum 3 Decarbonizing healthcare: Why countries cannot do it alone
Prof. Eckhard Nagel, holder of multiple doctorates, is a physician and ethicist. In addition to his main position as managing director of the Institute for Medical Management and Health Sciences at the University of Bayreuth, he is honorary chairman of the board of the Rudolf Pichlmayr Foundation and medical director of the Ederhof Rehabilitation Center in East Tyrol, Austria. He has served in various positions in German university hospitals and is active on several ethical committees. Nagel has studied medicine, among other things, in the USA, Scotland and France and holds several academic degrees.

Marcia Podestà

Marcia Podestà, Attorney at Law, MMR, IT Law. She is currently the President of the European Federation of Allergy and Airways Diseases Patient’s Associations (EFA). In this role, she advocates change for allergy, asthma and COPD patients. She is the current President of Food Allergy Italia and founder in 2002. She is also Codex Alimentarius Delegate and a member of the EAACI Ethics Committee and the EAACI Patient Organisation Coordinating Committee (POCC). She has over 20 years of experience in governance, managing a not-for-profit association, legal affairs, and EU and international health policy, driving strategic change to achieve key objectives.

Martin Blaschka

Martin Blaschka has been building networks around digital healthcare for over 10 years, supporting new solutions on their way into the healthcare market, and designing innovation-driven event formats. He is the Managing Director of Inno3 GmbH in Leipzig. Previously, he led an innovation center at the WIG2 Institute as an intrapreneur. Mr. Blaschka is a TÜV-certified Regulatory Affairs Manager for medical devices, a startup mentor, a digital advisor for a major statutory health insurance company, a speaker, and the author of numerous professional publications.
